Under 7 cricket is about participation and enjoyment. Players are introduced to the game of cricket and go through 3 levels of development: developing their fine motor movement and hand-eye coordination, developing cricket techniques for batting, bowling and fielding and playing league games against other club's. The game is played using Mini Cricket rules.
At Under 9 level, players are introduced to the hard ball and are required to wear all protective gear when batting. The batting, bowling and fielding techniques for playing with the hard ball are developed through net sessions and drills. Players are divided into teams based on the number of players. All players are given the opportunity to play league games every alternate Saturday during the cricket season.
At Under 11 level, players batting, bowling and fielding techniques are further refined and the game is played more competitively. Players are divided into two playing pools, the Under 11 1st team and the Under 11 2nd team. Both teams play league matches every alternate Saturday during the cricket season.
Under 13 cricket is played at a more competitive level. Players at this level are aware of their cricketing abilities and talents and are played in assigned batting and bowling roles. Physical fitness, cricketing technique and discipline are emphasised.
Under 15 cricket is the stepping stone to Senior Cricket. Players at this level have already developed and refined their cricket techniques and are now coached on their physical fitness, mental aspects and technical disciplines of the game.
